Brumby Engineering College in Scunthorpe was previously known as Brumby Comprehensive School. Development of college has been impressive and it has been placed by the Department for Education and Science in the top 100 schools for improvement over a five year period.
The Engineering Department is housed in the impressively modern Phoenix Centre, which was built in 2006 and which has two functional teaching rooms each with its own purpose.
Brumby currently has 250 desktops and laptops available for students use. The college has six ICT suites, four laptop banks with the rest of the computers spread throughout the school for use in every subject.
Sports success is a highlight of life at Brumby, the college having a sports hall, gym, basketball court, tennis courts, rugby pitches, football pitches, 400m athletics track and much more to enable students to gain knowledge and skills in a wide range of sports and activities.
A purpose built dance studio enabled further development of Brumby’s performing arts department and the college’s Pegasus centre caters for students with special educational needs, both behavioural and learning difficulties.
