An 11-16 multi-cultural comprehensive school for boys and girls, this sports specialist college was built in 1925 and used to be a grammar school with a sixth form. Originally on two sites half a mile apart, the school is now on one site which is surrounded by countryside.
There are 650 students, guided by over 50 staff. Science is the second specialist subject and High Ridge, in Scunthorpe, is proposing to become an academy which will bring a wide range of new opportunities and offer curriculum developments in a brand new school which will replace the current buildings. The new school will be purpose built.
