Monks’ Dyke Technology College
The largest school in Louth, Monks’ Dyke Technology College offers a huge variety of courses and experiences to suit every individual. Designated a technology college in 1995, a decade later it was identified by the government as a high performing specialist school, one of only 100 in the country, and was awarded Training School Status. It has now been awarded a third specialism: vocational school status which is highly unusual and recognises Monks’ Dyke's contributions to the education of students across the area.
Monks’ Dyke has an age range of 11 to 18.
Recent improvements to facilities have included more investment in ICT and a £1.6 million project to create new science labs and technology rooms. As a result of its high performance Monks’ Dyke was among the first 100 schools in the country to be awarded a second specialist status from Easter 2006.
