North East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust
The trust, which covers the area in which Grimsby is the largest population centre, is
responsible for the NHS budget for the 164,000 people registered with local GPs.
Formed in April 2000, the trust spent £163-million on local healthcare last year.
This included services provided by the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, as well as its responsibilities to primary care practiitioners (doctors, dentists pharmacists and opticians), mental health services and more specialist services provided by hospitals outside of the immediate area.

Other trust functions include services such as health visiting, district nursing, school and nursery nursing. The trust also funds emergency ambulance and health transport services.
The trust says its size means it is small enough to be responsive to local needs, but large enough to be efficient and financially viable.
