This historic school which has a history dating back to 1589 is rated one of the top State schools in the country.
With 1200 students aged 11-18, Queen Elizabeth High School was established in 1589 and now has 1200 students aged from 11 to 18. It is regarded within the local area as an institution of high academic excellence.
The school is selective and pupils wishing to enter the school at 11 must sit and pass the Eleven Plus exam prior to entry.
There are four houses at the school which compete in a closely-fought competition throughout each school year, taking part in a series of events ranging from cricket and football through to debating and drama.
The school has a modern technology suite situated in the middle school, opened by Prince Charles the Prince of Wales in 1999.
