Established in 1961 the school has been extended and now caters for around 900 pupils.
The school has excellent facilities to provide for every area of the curriculum. These include a well stocked library, a suite of music rooms, drama and dance studios, science laboratories, specially adapted rooms for IT, sound technology and a learning support suite. The playing fields and games area extend to nearly 15 acres.
On site is a daytime leisure centre of which the school has use.
