The Humberston School
http://www.humberston-school.co.uk/
Major developments costing around £500,000 are bringing new opportunities for this fine school which in September 2006 was awarded Specialist status in Maths and Computing.
The previous year Humberston School was recognised by Ofsted as consistently achieving above national average results at KS3 and KS4.
On-going work is providing an additional computer room; ICT embedded across the curriculum with 24/7 accessibility via Virtual Learning Environment; enterprise capability and work-related learning well-developed throughout the school.
Pupils follow the National Curriculum throughout the school. In conjunction with Grimsby Institute the school offers a small number of pupils (in consultation with pupils, parents and teachers) a range of more practical courses (NVQ). A second foreign language may be offered in Key Stage 4 if demand is high enough. Pupils can also take Business Studies and GCSE PE. The school also offers an Applied GCSE in Health and Social Care in partnership with Grimsby College or Franklin Sixth Form College.
