Mention Doncaster to any racegoer and the chances are they will immediately think of one of the great British races – the St Leger.

The world’s oldest classic of the flat racing season brings crowds from all over country to this famous venue every September.

Doncaster has a long reputation for top class racing and the town’s proud boast is that it has one of the finest courses in Europe.

In January 2006 work began on a £32-million refurbishment , a 20 month project to transform the track into one of the most modern and impressive in the country with new facilities including a new five-storey grandstand, exhibition and conference centre with restaurants, bars and private boxes.

A major non-racing attraction is the course’s Exhibition Centre with floor space of over 4180 sq metres.

The racecourse is easily reached from Northern Lincolnshire and is situated just one mile from Doncaster town centre.
