Lincoln City

Formed as an amateur side in 1884, Lincoln have in recent years become the "nearly" team.
The Division 11 side have made determined bids to escape into Division 1 but success has eluded them year after year.

They were play-off finalists in 2002-03 and 2004-05, being semi-finalists in 2003-04, 2005-006 and 2006-07

Nicknamed the Imps after the legend of the Lincoln Imp, they have also become known as the Red Imps as traditionally they play in red and white striped shirts with black shorts and red and white socks.

Lincoln City are based at Sincil Bank, the ground to which they moved in 1895.
Seven years after that Lincoln became one of the 12 founder members of the Second Division.
