Winterton Rangers.

An old established club - it was founded in 1934 - Winterton has a proud record of success in various local leagues. The club currently plays in the Northern Counties East League’s Premier in which they are current champions.

During its long history the club has played on only two grounds, the first being in Watery Lane and the second - still its home - is in West Street, the land being bought in 1950.

In the 1970s Winterton played in the Yorkshire League and in 1978 won the Philips six-a-side floodlight cup, beating that year’s Vase winners Newcastle Blue Star in Birmingham receiving a prize of six floodlights.
The mid 1980s saw the club in dire financial straits which led to it being disbanded, but it bounced back in 1986, three years later winning the NCEL Division 11 title, remaining in the Premier Division until the end of the 1993-4 season.

With a new chairman - Dave Crowder - and committee in 2002 the club embarked on a run of development and success with ground improvements four years later including a new seated stand and dugouts and further raised hard standing. The ground and facilities are now said to be among the best in the whole league.
