About Humber Chemical Focus
Since its establishment in 1999, it has evolved into a network of over 90 organisations hosting over a dozen network collaborations and has attracted and deployed funding contributions of over £10 million into the cluster.
It has also hosted a range of publicly funded contracts spanning industry surveys, skills programmes, projects, promotions and network groups. Through its network groups HCF has increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the industry through promoting and sharing best practice as well as acting as an efficient source of data, trade and contact information.
HCF is uniquely placed to act as a conduit for the local chemical, petrochemical and process manufacturers in its engagement with similar companies, local communities, programmes such Children Challenging Industry as well as with national and European policy makers relating to new regulations affecting the industry e.g. IPPC, COMAH, REACH.
HCF’s continued mission is to:
‘Act as the focus and catalyst for innovative collaborations and deliver activities which strengthen and grow the chemical, petrochemical and process industries in the Humber region to ensure that it enhances its competitiveness and remains one of Europe’s major regions for process manufacturing and future investment’
HCF’s strategy is to build on developing value adding, innovative, collaborative public-private sector partnerships to promote growth and sustainability.
